An Unexpected Phone Call
Brett, one of my longest and truest best friends, called me on a random weekday. He often does this when he has off, to check in with us and the kids. Something was different about this phone call. You could feel the excitement buzzing from him.
"I'm going to propose to Paige and I want you to capture it"
Obviously, I said yes! I could never pass on an opportunity to capture one of my best friends big days. Brett came ready with a plan. We already had a couples session scheduled in October since they hadn't had updated pictures in a while. Brett wanted to bring her to a place that meant a lot to them, with the beautiful fall foliage as the backdrop, get down on one knee, and ask her to be his forever. We worked out all of the logistics and knew we had a solid plan. Until...
Unexpected Obstacles
Saturday, when Brett and Paige arrived at my house, I had to break the news to them that there were showers expected for their session the next day. We decided to move the session to a different part of the day, however, the weather quickly changed and we realized there was no way to avoid the rain. We could either proceed with the session or reschedule. Ultimately we decided to embrace the rain, dress warm, pack umbrellas and cross our fingers. And let me tell you, we were not disappointed.

THE Moment
Brett's excitement and nervousness was contagious on the drive to our location. We pulled up to Jordan Park in Stevens Point. We snapped a few shots, playing it off like this was just a normal session. Then we got into position. I had them facing away from each other, told them to take a couple of steps away from each other, and told Paige to turn around. Kneeling on the damp grass, surrounded by beautiful yellows, orange, and reds, was Brett, with a ring box in his hand.
"Paige, will you marry me?"

Pop some bubbly!!
Obviously, Paige said an enthusiastic yes!
We quickly moved to our next location, desperate to beat the rain. We arrived to a luscious green rolling hill masterpiece of a location. The wind chilled us to the bone and the rain picked up, but Brett and Paige were dedicated to capture this moment exactly how it was. What we were able to capture was the most incredible rainy engagement photos I have ever seen. They looked like they belonged on the cover of a movie. We popped some champagne and celebrated their big day! It was truly such a beautiful day and I am so grateful that we weathered the storm.
